Welcome. Glad you could make it. You’re accessing this on www.raw.com, the Web server for my company, Reality And Wonder. Frequent visitors (ha-ha) may notice that I update information here every year or two or three...
I’m a computer consultant
in West
Concord, MA, USA, providing a variety of system architecture, configuration,
and programming services. For more about that see
the page about Reality And Wonder.
This section was getting a bit long, so the
topics now have separate pages. There is the original topic, vintage February 1995, as subsequent topic, added in April 1998.
Here is a piece of ancient history: my Netscape bookmark page from circa 1997. Back then it was an absolutely insane number of URLs. These days it’s a pittance... And at that point the list was live, straight out of my browser, with my most recent discoveries unsorted at the end. These days (2004) many of those links have gone stale, although you might be able to see what I was looking at by going to the Wayback Machine. The links are partially annotated, so you might be able to glean a few more of my interests from it.
I put together and maintain the web sites for Concord Children’s Center and Thoreau School.
Kathleen gave me a real (nice!) telescope for my 35th birthday. Read my Astro Reports. (Astro-geeks: it’s a Meade ETX-90/EC . See also Weasner’s Mighty ETX Site.)
I’m also doing my bit to find out if there are Height-disadvantaged Personages of (Bright) Color “Out There” by running SETI@home. I’m in the Rice Alumni group, a modest little group. (I’ve been top in the group’s stats list since January 2000. Come join us and prove that you have more spare cycles than me!)
Any of it, in general, but our own homebrew, in particular.
I’ve got a fair amount of family data gathered. Some day I’d like to put it up on the web...
Here’s a set of interesting birding links.
Another project: checklist on the web (here’s a template).
Once upon a time I was put together a nice little coin collection, mostly european coins I got from travelling over there or from my grandparents, plus some U.S. coins I bought at auction back when Buddy-for-life Jack and I were card-carrying (junior) members of the Bellaire Coin Club. (Of course they still exist! Of course they’ve got a web page!)
Now we’ve got the kids going on some family coin collecting projects: U.S. State Quarters and the Euro.

You may be interested/surprised/confused/terrified to know that as of 2004.11.03 my Geek Code is

Worse than that:
(Where "You" means me.)
See me, poke
